Sunrise and sunset in Grand Teton National Park are optimal times to view wildlife, and the lighting at these hours typically offers the most photogenic views of the Tetons. Your knowledgeable biologist will guide you to breathtaking overlooks and wildlife hot spots, describing the behavior of various species throughout your tour. Our Grand Teton sunrise and sunset tours will give you the opportunity to view bison, pronghorn, elk, moose, osprey, bald eagle, bear, wolves, and much more!
Our summer sunrise and sunset tours catch wildlife at their most active, as they move about while it’s cooler in the mornings and evenings. Observe these majestic animals amidst the beauty and solitude of the changing light across Jackson Hole.
In the winter, animals conserve energy at night and are most active in the morning and evening while they are coming out of – or settling down for – sleep. This provides optimal conditions for viewing wildlife on our winter sunrise and sunset tours in Jackson Hole. Spot wildlife from the warm comfort of our luxurious Backcountry Safaris tour van while the changing daylight sparkles across the snowy Tetons.

Beautiful Teton Sunset
We booked a private Sunset Tour on September 13,2021 and we are so pleased with our knowledgeable guide Jaden. Jaden is full of excitement for the wonders of the world around her, her smile and laughter are infectious. The sunset was amazing and all the wildlife a fabulous bonus.
Great way to see wildlife.
We had some time before a destination wedding in Jackson. To make the most of our time here we scheduled a Wildlife Safari with Back Country Safari’s. Max, our guide, did an excellent job. Within the first hour of our four hour morning tour he spotted not one but four moose and a bear with four cubs. We also found elk, bison and deer along with a beautiful overlook of the valley. Max was very knowledgeable about wildlife and the area. Max had snacks and drinks available in a very comfortable van. It was definitely well worth the time and money.
My sister and I did a sunset 4 hour tour with Gus. He was a excellent guide. We saw male and female moose, black bear in a tree, a grizzly bear, a bald eagle and , bison. He knew a lot about the animals and a lot about Yellowstone and the Tetons. I would highly recommend Gus in a heartbeat.
